Alexander Volkov

Founder & CTO @ MDDT

20 years in IT — climbed the OSI model from Layer 1 to Layer 7.

Started with fiber optic networks for Russia's largest telecom operators — Dom.ru, Beeline, Rostelecom — during the transition from dial-up to broadband. Graduated with a thesis on GPON network architecture.

Moved up to network infrastructure at X5 Retail Group, supporting IT across Pyaterochka, Perekrestok, Karusel rebrands and regional distribution center openings.

Then software: picked up Objective-C when Swift 1.0 dropped — with nothing but friends and Stack Overflow. Built iOS apps at IBS (Philip Morris, iMintrans, enterprise), MTS Digital (Beffo wellness, VDOME lifestyle). Took Victa fitness startup from zero to Emerge Dubai 2023 semifinalist.

In 2021 founded MDDT. Contributed to Stats.fm as Flutter Lead — the app serves 20M+ users. Successful 3-year partnership with IRNBY as CTO of the development team — $1.5M ARR, 73k users, three years without a single serious incident.

Since 2023: building with AI as a core workflow. One developer closing tasks of a team of five. Apps in days, not months.
